I purchased this toy for my grandchildren to use at the beach. It was much easier for them to scoop and draw in the sand than a regular shovel. I think it will be fun to use in the snow during the winter as well. My 18 month old granddaughter used it at the beach with us today.
She was able to scoop sand easier than with a traditional scoop and also enjoyed rolling the ball. The adults used the scoops to toss the ball back and forth and it worked much better than expected. It was fun and my granddaughter will get a lot of use out of it. Many uses for this product, although much smaller than I had anticipated.
My boys, 1 and 5, love to scoop and pour water with them, or chase after the ball on the floor with the scoops, but the scoops are really too small to play catch with. It is much smaller than anticipated, probably best for only very young children. Also, the two pieces do not come apart easily, even before sand is introduced.
The product design should really be improved. There is no way to secure the ball with the scoops. All the children in our group ages have enjoyed playing with this toy!
They love scooping out the sand and writing their names in the sand by filling the cones with water and letting it drip out. Very sturdy toy with multiple uses! Love it! We took the Quut Cuppi to the beach for a 4. It was easy for him to hold and dig with. We never used the ball that came with it. However, when it came down to it, playing in the water beat playing in the sand. This is no fault of the toy. On the sand it was good for digging.
I did like that it was compact enough to fit in a suitcase, which will pay off when we need to fly to our next beach destination.
My 3 year old son loves these cuppis. He finds all kinds of different ways to play with them. We throw the ball back and forth, he lets water drip through, he digs, and he even uses them to splash water on other kids at the Splash Pad. We haven't even taken them to the beach yet only our backyard sand table and he loves them! I can't wait to take them to the beach.
