The retailer apologised and promised to investigate. Our annual supermarket survey asks more than 7, shoppers what they really think of their supermarket. Check out the results and find out which are the best and worst supermarkets. Using data from the independent shopping website MySupermarket , we calculate the average price including discounts, but not multibuys for each item across a whole month.

We add up those average prices to get the cost of the basket. This month, we included 66 items in the basket. Many supermarkets have a price-matching scheme, where they compare their prices against other supermarkets and give you a voucher for the difference if your shopping would have been cheaper elsewhere.

Richer Sounds and Toolstation are the top high street shops in the UK in , according to our annual survey of thousands of shoppers. Morrisons came bottom. Toolstation has held on to the joint-top spot, after sharing it with John Lewis in Last year, Richer Sounds was joint-third.

The biggest riser is Harvey Nichols: jointst out of shops last year, it is now in joint-third place. Morrisons, on the other hand, came jointth last year and is now in last place.
